Along the Journey is the Priority Life Care program for residents with memory impairments such as Alzheimer’s and dementia. Through family, friends, and health professionals, we strive to understand each resident’s journey and meet them where they are.Contact Us
We’ve had a good experience with Harmony House since our loved one arrived there. They take care of their every need, are gracious and courteous and always go above and beyond to keep us informed of how things are going.
Along the Journey is Priority Life Care’s memory care program. The Along the Journey program was created for our residents with memory impairments. It’s a way for loved ones and caregivers to develop relationships that benefit each memory care resident. The journey begins with a successful transition that supports each resident in their new environment.
Goals of Along the Journey:
Through the Along the Journey program, the community will complete a holistic assessment of the resident’s abilities and background. Information will be gathered from the resident, family, other caregivers, and physicians. From cognitive and physical health to preferences for food and music, the information we gather will help our caregivers connect with your loved one and create a daily routine that positively reinforces their behaviors.
Using Activities to Enrich Our Lives
The Along the Journey program uses activities promote physical exercise, stimulate mental activity, and maintain social and spiritual contacts. Popular activities include morning coffee (hydration) and news, listening to music, spiritual programs, ice cream socials, reminiscing, trivia, and puzzles. Life stations may be set up to create an atmosphere where your loved one may feel a sense of purpose—such as folding clothes, or sitting at a desk and typing on a typewriter or computer. Late-afternoon activities and one-on-one sensory activities are designed to minimize agitation and help residents relax and have a good night’s rest.
