COMING SOON! Livingston Place at Southern Ave Assisted Living is looking forward to serving seniors in the DC area! This beautiful community will have 152 apartments and is currently under construction at 306 Southern Avenue SE, Washington, DC. At Livingston Place, we will provide high quality, housing, health, personal assistance, and other services to low – and moderate-income elderly District residents. Our goal is to increase community tenure while promoting integration, dignity, and quality of life.
Our community is an affordable option for seniors who need assisted living. Seniors are able to remain in their local community close to all of the amenities the city is able to offer.
Livingston Place was thoughtfully designed with our seniors in mind. There will be many areas to socialize, keep active, and relax. Residents will find a vibrant community that keeps them active with current interests and hobbies, and provide new ones! Our Life enrichment center offers daily classes, outings, and events. Outings will also be scheduled to continue to keep seniors engaged with the local community (as local and federal health departments permit).
Residents at Livingston Place will are also able to take advantage of on-site amenities that include a beautiful lobby with warm welcomes, a dining room for breakfast, lunch and dinner, beauty salon, lounge area, and life enrichment center.
To make life easier, Livingston Place will have visiting medical practitioners. Residents have the opportunity to keep their current physicians or see our on-site doctors in our therapy and exam rooms. Visiting practitioners may include, physicians, therapy, hospice, dentist, podiatrist, and more.
Livingston Place is able to offer affordable monthly rental fees through the Federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. The tax credit requires financial eligibility to live at Livingston Place. For more information on the Federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program, visit here.
For seniors who need financial help with the cost of care, the community plans to be a provider of the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities (EPD) Waiver. Seniors must be on Medicaid and require assistance for at least 2-3 activities of daily living. The waiver is managed through the Department of Aging and Community Living. Our Life Enrichment Center offers classes to keep residents physically fit and socially, mentally, and spiritually active, as well as integrated into the fabric of the local community. We often schedule live musical entertainment, host art classes, and educational seminars. Outdoor activities and outings include shopping, eating out, visiting parks, museums, beaches, and other recreational sites.
Above all, residents are provided with choices that encourage individuality and social opportunities. Our friendly Life Enrichment staff members get to know our residents so they can offer activities that inspire participation. In other words, you continue with your interests and hobbies and we help support your activities!
We understand that dining is more than just-food. It’s the experience of sharing a delicious meal with friends and family in a pleasing atmosphere. Livingston Place’s dining package is a complete setting where residents can look forward to a variety of healthy and delicious meal options.
Staff members get to know our residents as well as their food preferences and allergies. We get to know who likes an extra helping of homemade coleslaw, and who isn’t going to eat the baked salmon.
