Independence Court has two beautiful courtyards for socializing and relaxing. They are sunny and bright, with just the right amount of shade and a beautiful array of garden flowers. Independence Court’s Life Enrichment program boasts many opportunities that give our residents a purpose every day. Our program is resident-centered and created to nurture the mind, body, and soul. Our life enrichment director meets with residents to understand their interests and needs. Activities, classes, and events are thoughtfully chosen and based on resident interests and participation.
In addition to regularly scheduled activities, we offer a community outreach program. In the summer, we have Bingo Mania, an event that includes residents’ families and partners, with proceeds going toward school supplies for inner-city schools. In the fall, residents make “welcome home” cards for soldiers returning home for the holidays.
Independence Court is so close to the District of Columbia, there are plentiful outings for our residents. Favorite visits include museums and memorials, as well as scenic drives through town. We also hold educational classes such as veterans’ advocacy and arthritis and pain management.
Programming at Independence Court keeps us vibrant and in touch with our surrounding community. You’ll find our vibrant program inspires residents to lead fulfilling and active lives.

“When we were looking for (care for) our loved one, we were concerned with cost, care, access to transportation, and a welcoming environment. Independence Court of Hyattsville did the best job of meeting those criteria. The facility is big enough to handle the medical care issues we were concerned about. The food is good. Overall, we think this was a good choice for our needs.”
