Now in its second year, U.S. News’ Best Senior Living ratings evaluate nearly 4,000 communities in the U.S. in one or more of the following categories: Best Independent Living, Best Assisted Living, Best Memory Care and Best Continuing Care Retirement. To be recognized, individual communities had to earn a specific final weighted score tabulated in the independent methodology developed by the U.S. News health data analytics team.

“This is a hard-earned and well-deserved honor for each of these communities – and for our company as a whole,” said Sevy Petras, CEO of Priority Life Care. “Our communities are built around the belief that everyone deserves dignity, compassion, and respect, and that belief inspires everything we do to provide our residents the best experience we can. It means so much to us knowing these ratings are driven by the feedback and experiences of our residents and their families. They are why we do what we do.”

The 2023 Best Senior Living ratings were determined by survey responses from residents and families from participating independent, assisted and memory care communities. Respondents were asked to rate their experience with the things that matter most – the kindness of staff; variety of activities; quality of the food and dining experience; whether local transportation is provided to doctor’s appointments, grocery stores or other daily needs; the quality of on-site caregiving and more.

“U.S. News provides in-depth information on multiple community types to help potential residents and their families find, in consultation with their doctors as needed, the best place to help meet their needs,” said Zach Adams, senior health data engineer at U.S. News. “Communities that are highly rated excel in making residents feel safe, well cared for and highly satisfied by the services provided.”

More than 200,000 total survey responses were collected for the 2023-24 edition of Best Senior Living. For more information on the program and its methodology, visit the Best Senior Living website.
